Everyone knows Hooters! Hooters Bangkok is part of probably the most popular bar franchise in the world. Opened in September 2015, this Bangkok branch on Sukhumvit Soi 15 is located in Four Points by Sheraton Hotel and stays true to the original vision of fun and flirty Hooter’s girls behind the bar, live sports on the big-screen TVs and huge portions of American dishes on the menu, particularly the ‘world-famous chicken wings’ in a wide range of flavours.
The layout of the bar is typical of an American sports bar with a mixture of high stools and tables. There is a small upstairs area for private parties. Everywhere you look is the classic Hooters colour scheme of white on orange, not least on the girls’ uniforms. The girls all speak great English and are as chatty as they can be when not pouring drinks or performing their dance routine. The group dance is scheduled every 30 minutes.
If you are coming to eat, come hungry! The portions are massive with popular items including the Buffalo platter for 660 baht containing deep fried shrimp and chicken wings. The rack of ribs with curly fries and coleslaw (half rack 480 baht, full rack 820 baht) is an American classic and you can build your own burger starting from 410 baht with a range of toppings and cheese to create your masterpiece with.
Hooter’s ‘world famous wings’ come breaded, naked or boneless, with 12 different flavours to choose from each with its own spice rating. The ‘triple dare you’ flavour has a maximum spice rating of 5/5 and is certainly not for the faint hearted. Prices range from 410 baht for 10 pieces up to 1,880 baht for 50 pieces.
There are a few local dishes such as Thai beef salad for 470 baht, but this is really a place for American food piled high on huge plates.
