Trendy Restaurants Bangkok

LE DU RESTAURANT: From their incredible octopus with crab mayo and chorizo to their raw Wagyu beef salad, as well as their melt-in-the-mouth marinated oysters, Le Du restaurant boasts a creative, innovative and ever-changing seasonal menu (‘Le Du’ means season in Thai). Le Du defines their lunch menu as ‘European bistro’, but dinner is a whole other concept, which could loosely be described as innovative haute cuisine.

The restaurant space is relaxed, sleek and comfortable but on the whole quite plain, paving way for the astonishing food to do all the talking. Prices for the four-course menu start at a very reasonable 990 baht, although if you have a big appetite and want to fully explore the culinary delights of Le Du, go for the full seven courses at just over 1,500 baht. A true Bangkok dining experience for those who appreciate bold, skillfully prepared cuisine.

BUNKER RESTAURANT: Bunker Restaurant in Bangkok, set in a cool three-storey building that looks like a Bunker in Sathorn, serves refined cuisine, picking dishes from across the culinary traditions of Europe with the addition of some American bravado.

Their belief in strong flavours is apparent throughout the menu: salads are served earthy and partially raw, the cured foie gras is especially creamy, the pastas are rich and filling. Bunker serves immaculate cuisine, but it’s also a fashionable, intimate space with impeccable service – certainly among the best high-end restaurants in Bangkok.

VEGETARIAN RESTAURANTS: Vegetarian restaurants in Bangkok cater to practically every variety of regional cuisine, with old stalwarts being joined by fancy new restaurants constantly. Most of the places in our list are completely meat and fish free, although some of these restaurants do keep a very limited selection of non-vegetarian dishes. Nevertheless, if you are a vegetarian, vegan, follow Jainism, or just fancy a healthy meat-free meal in Bangkok, these restaurants all deliver on taste, quality and style.

Na Aroon is surprising not only for its hidden location at the end of Sukhumvit Soi 1, but also for the delightful array of organic, Thai and (mostly) vegetarian dishes served here. In a beautiful boutique hotel surrounded by a leafy garden, this fantastic restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a healthy, leisurely meal.

The hotel has been around since the 1940s and the owners have kept the vintage feel, with standout dishes including their yellow curry with peppercorns, bamboo shoots and imitation chicken, as well as the steamed rice in a lotus leaf, served with cashew nuts, chilli, chives, lotus seeds and fried tofu.

Broccoli Revolution is a cool new vegetarian restaurant on Sukhumvit Road. The exposed lightbulbs and brushed concrete is very much in vogue for a fresh and modern feel to the place, while the menu takes inspiration from all over the place with Thai, pan-Asian, Middle Eastern and European dishes to choose from.

Our favourites include the Lebanese mezze containing hummus, tzatziki, a rich eggplant babaganoush and pita bread, and the tasty broccoli quinoa burger with a sweet mango tomato salsa and cranberry charcoal bun. Find Broccoli Revolution on the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 49, between Phrom Phong and Thonglor.
