Located on Sukhumvit Soi 11 Bangkok’s first Aussie Pub adds some fresh competition to the numerous Irish and British pubs that pervade Bangkok. They are a sports Pub and Restaurant on Soi 11 which over the last few years has become one of the best entertainment areas on Sukumvit road. The great thing about The “Aussie” is that they appeal to a huge demographic so if it’s a date, a match, a night out with friends or a couple of beers before you hit the clubs they are one of the best places on Soi 11. They also have weekly events like the after work party on a Friday and the very popular Sunday Session which has live music, drink specials and a free sausage sizzle every Sunday afternoon.
The Aussies are renowned for their world class wines and rightly so, they keep at least 6 different ones in stock. House wines which change monthly are all Australian and under 150B a glass. Their menu includes a very extensive Thai section to accommodate everyone but as well as great Aussie favorites like their signature dish the Chicken Parmigiana, you will love it!
If you are into sports, they have all the satellites available, which includes the Australian Network showing Live AFL, V8 Supercars and some of the other major sporting events, as well as full coverage of F1, Premier League football, NRL, Super Rugby and State of Origin. And in case you prefer the A league and International Cricket, they have it too!
The Australian delivers on all the expat-bar essentials such as live sports, English speaking staff, pub food and a selection of beers on tap. But unlike some of Bangkok’s other expat haunts (that can often feel stale and a bit depressing), this Sukhumvit Soi 11 spot keeps the atmosphere light thanks to a roster of decent live music, drawing in a mix of young and old, girls and boys.
